Family Session - Meadowvale ConservatioN, Mississauga
When Nicolina reached out to have her family photos taken I was so excited! I’ve known this couple for a long time and was looking forward to seeing them as parents.
Our session fell on a very rainy weekend. Everyone was a great sport when it came to mud and puddles. A rainy family photoshoot can still be a beautiful and memorable experience, despite the weather. Overcast days are often a dream for photographers - it creates one giant soft box in the sky - plus a little rain never hurt anyone.
We decided to shoot at Meadowvale Conservation Area in the city of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The park is a natural paradise that offers visitors a chance to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse themselves in the beauty of nature. It is situated along the Credit River and features a variety of natural habitats, including forests, meadows, wetlands, and riverbanks. The park is relatively flat and is very accessible for strollers; a perfect spot for family sessions.
The family took a walk, under the shelter of the trees, while I captured candid shots of them enjoying the rainy scenery. Outfit selections were such a great choice. Mustard against the earthy tones in the background created such a beautiful pop of colour! Packing an umbrella provided some shelter from the rain, but also acted as a prop, giving the family something to hold!
One of the highlights of the park is its extensive network of trails, which wind their way through the park's various habitats. Whether you're looking for a leisurely stroll or a more challenging hike, there's a trail for you. The trails are well-marked and maintained, a safe space for a family photoshoot.
The boardwalk leads visitors through a beautiful wetland area. The boardwalk provides a close-up view of the wetland's plant and animal life, including numerous species of birds, frogs, and turtles. It's a perfect spot for nature lovers and makes for a beautiful backdrop for photography.
Visitors to Meadowvale Conservation Area can enjoy the park year-round and experience outdoor activities, including hiking, birdwatching, fishing and picnicking. There is no fee to enter the park, but visitors are asked to follow all posted rules and regulations.
