2022 - Favourite moments

Ahh, seeing everything in one slideshow makes my heart flutter (scroll down to check it out!)

2022 was a tough one – post-pandemic in Ontario is presenting some challenges. I found myself playing catch-up and finding a new groove. But, by the fall I was jam-packed, full of love and gratitude. This was year 3 of being an official business and it ended up being the biggest year in my career so far. I had the most inquiries, the most sessions, the most weddings and built the most connections – hard work really does pay off.

I’m so grateful for every person that stepped in front of my camera in 2022. I’m in this industry and I still get so nervous being in front of the lens. I completely understand the vulnerability it takes to be photographed.

Thank you to all my clients; you graciously opened your homes and shared your life with me. I think some of the most rewarding things as a photographer are meeting your friends and family on your wedding day, watching your little ones grow and capturing your love and precious moments. Toronto is full of so many amazing artists and the fact that you chose me to document your love is such an honour.

I made so many connections with other photographers. I truly value those connections and I’m thrilled that our relationship as colleagues bloomed into friendships. Having a space to share experiences is important and forces us to grow. Being able to share frustrations and celebrate wins with people who truly get what it takes to run a business and to be an artist is imperative.

After each session or wedding, I have a seat in my car and scroll through my camera to see what we created. There are always a few shots that make my heart skip a beat and force me to race home to start editing.  Images sit with me for different reasons; some because of the lighting or the composition while others it’s because of the moment captured and the story behind the image.

Photographs can instantly bring us back in time. You can feel the way the sun felt that day, what the florals smelt like and hear laughter just by flipping through an old album. I love the sense of joy and peace old photographs bring. Every image you are delivered is a piece of art. It’s a piece of you and your life in a frame – it’s also a piece of us, as your photographer. I hold so much sentimental value in my images with family, friends and spouse - I treat your photographs the same way and take your memories seriously. My soul goes into every image I create.

Enjoy this little slideshow of some of my favourite images from 2022!
